STUART — Testing their hand-eye coordination along with their knowledge of sailing, the Stuart Model Sailing Club meets up every Sunday to race their Soling 1M and US1M radio-controlled sailboats at Poppleton Creek Park.

“This is a racing situation on Sundays, but we are a lot more friendly on Thursdays and Saturdays,” said club commodore Bob Chapell of Stuart as he smiled. “We are just here to have fun and we welcome other folks to join us.”

Friendly competition is what the Stuart Model Sailing Club is all about, with practices every Thursday and Saturday and official race days starting at 1 p.m. Sunday.

For more information, call Chapell at 772-219-3820.
